The Shanghai based airline, China Eastern is expected to welcome a massive increase in its fleet. The airline that has launched many new routes and increase frequencies to various international destinations these years, seems fully laced up to change a gear in 2011.

The airline has entered a purchase agreement with the Air framer today and is to purchase 50 Airbus A320 aircraft, as reported by Flights global. At this initial stage of the agreement, China Eastern states that the transaction is subject to approval of the company's shareholders. Korean Air Cheap Fares To Australia

Standing at the door of 2011, there is a lot of predictions and forecasts about the future of the world, politics, global economy and the changing trends in Tourism.
2010 brought two things in lime light; one is Seoul as a new holiday destination in Asia and second is the flagship carrier or Korea, Korean Air. Korean Air has made its place in the international aviation industry within no time. Korea has evolved as a new, hot and happening beach destination. Despite the ongoing tensions between North and South Korea, the country saw a tourist boom in 2010 whereas; the national airline offered a bunch of new routes and also increased flight frequencies to far off destinations.
korean-air-planes-cheap-flights-australia
One notable destination of Korean Airline is Australia. The carrier offers cheap flights to Australia and also, its high standard and quality service promises a comfortable long flight. In the coming year 2011, it’s the one airline to expect great things from. At present, Korean air’s most prominent route is Brisbane, Australia’s top visited destination.
Korean air presently offers flights to Brisbane from 543 GBP excl. taxes and therefore, holds top position as the cheapest flight to Australia. The airline’s route is London Heathrow to Seoul and Seoul to Brisbane. Korean air has a short stopover in Seoul. It uses 3 digit flight numbers for flights to Brisbane such as KE 908 and KE123. The departure timings (as at present) are leaving from London Heathrow at 20:05 and arriving in Brisbane at 06:20 am after stopping over in Seoul, South Korea for a couple of hours. *The airline takes about two days time including time differences.
Korean Air also offers cheap flights to Sydney and is the one rising airline to look for on the Oceana route.

Cheap Flights To Lagos In 2011 - Forecast

Today is the last day of the year 2010, it is the time when many of us will be analyzing our budgets, savings and doing our tax totals. One of the major expenses that we all have in common is travel, and Air travel even if once in a year takes out the biggest chunk from our Bank account.

In this End of Year, article I am putting together the cheapest flights to Lagos that you can expect in the coming year 2011. Once thing notable, is for each of these fares, since they are the cheapest and starting fares, you’ll need to book flights well in advance to ensure your place as all fares are subject to availability.

To start with, the best low cost airlines that you can book for cheap flights to Nigeria try checking on Air Afriqiyah. This airline was originally established to represent the whole continent. However, after so far that only strong reputation it has been able to make is as a low cost airline. Air Afriqiyah is offering flights to Lagos from 220 GBP Nett at present.

abuja-arik-air-cheap-flights-nigeria

After Afriqiyah, the Italian airline Alitalia (AZ) provides amazing cheap flights to Nigeria starting from 225 GBP excl. taxes. Now what I need you guys to know is, these are all basic fares so a safe play is to check the taxes as well as the taxes determine how big or small the total fare difference can be between an airline that offers 220 as its cheapest fare and the airline that offers 225, for the taxes, at times, are even bigger than the basic fares. Alitalia Airline operates from London Heathrow to Lagos via Milan, Italy. The route of Air Afriqiyah is via Tripoli, Libya and it fly from London Gatwick airport.

Egypt Airline, the flagship carrier of Egypt is also providing good fares and if you are seeking a multi-destination holiday, this is the best carrier as it goes via Cairo. However, the stop over may require you to buy a visa as well as pay stop over charges so please inquire first. The fares of this airline start from 229 GBP.

After these three, the fourth one that tops the list of cheap flights to Lagos is British Airways offering flights from 280 GBP excl. taxes. The good thing about BA is its promising quality services and that it offers direct flights to Lagos. However, if you are after direct flights to Abuja, Arik Airline, the Nigerian airline is a safe bet. Arik Airline offers cheap flights as well as excellent services and is reckoned among the top airlines of the continent.

Lastly, Air France and KLM offer around 280 to 300 GBP cheapest flights to Lagos excluding taxes. These airlines are often operating code share flights with Kenya Airways.

The above airlines are to watch for in 2011, for promising and cheap flights to Nigeria.

Flying Kangaroo Still Coping With A380 Crisis

Earlier this year, the Australian Flying Kangaroo experienced a shaky start of the holiday season when explosive engine failure minutes after the Sydney-bound flight left Singapore on Nov. 4 nearly downed one of his prized A380 jetliners and temporally grounded the entire A380 fleet for safety checks. The incident left Qantas operating long haul flights at what can be called “skeleton fleet” and the carrier faced a challenge to its reputation.
Though, after enough investigation was carried out, followed by repairs and a detailed check up if the entire fleet, the airline resumed its A380 flights last month. To ensure the safety, Qantas CEO also traveled along on the first resuming A380 flights and deplaned in Singapore. However, the airline has been facing mounting challenges in shape of questions of reliability and the fear that an exploding engine caused among the air travelers.
Qantas-airbusA380-cheap-flights-perth
Qantas Airline is keeping all options open and also filed a case against the manufacturer ‘Rolls Royce’. Qantas CEO, Mr. Alan Joyce is awaiting compensation of the damages that the incident has caused it. Qantas is moving in 2011, with hopes to restore its image and also attain compensation for the financial as well as reputation loss that Air Bus A380 engine failure has caused it.
The craft was fitted with 2 spare engines, in addition to the engine that has a ‘manufacturing fault’ in it. All passengers and crew landed safely in all incidents involving Airbus A380.
The strong point in favor of Qantas is its long history of trouble free and high standard services. The airline also, scores a ten as there are hardly any notable competition it faces when it comes to providing direct flights to Australia and the wide domestic and regional connectivity. Qantas operates internal connecting flights to Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Sydney and nearly all top Australian destinations.

FLY 540’s Temporary solution Is DC-9 Aircraft

The regional airline of Uganda, Fly 540 has reportedly leased two DC-9 aircraft recently. These new DC-9 Aircrafts will enable Fly 540 to offer Business Class seats for the first time in any of their fleet aircraft. The aircraft is configured with 10 Business and 70 Economy seats.

This new addition in the Fly 540 fleet is said to be a ‘substitute’ until the additional CRJ aircrafts arrive to join the fleet. These CRJ aircrafts will be providing additional seats for the forthcoming peak season on flights to Nairobi and Entebbe. Also the CRJ will operate onward flights from Nairobi to Mombasa, Zanzibar, and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

As stated in recent online news reports from Nairobi, the regional airline Fly 540 swiftly got hold of these two Kenya-registered aircrafts to stop-gap until the CRJ are received. These aircrafts were previously flown by East African Safari Air Express and initially grounded when EASAX halted their own operations.

Passengers traveling with Fly 540 on these aircraft will now be able to enjoy wider seats in the front cabin, something no other airline besides Kenya Airways is presently offering on the route between Entebbe and Nairobi. The national carrier of Uganda, Air Uganda also uses all economy CRJ aircraft, unless their standby MD 87 aircraft is being used incase of increased demand in busy season which has 50 more seats than the regular CRJ. Air Uganda’s MD 87 air craft has 20 business class seats and about 80 seats in economy class.
